Three Decades Plus: More Exciting Years in Japan?

32 years in Japan today!  That’s three decades plus.  Is it getting more exciting to live in Japan?  How many more years will I stay here?

Indeed, time flies so fast.   Everything is still vivid to me the day I arrived at Narita Airport. Though traveled to around 25 countries before landing here, it was my first time to see snow.   Blizzards &  an earthquake welcomed me. How can I forget my older sister’s advice, “Don’t talk to any man wearing trench coats & hats. They’re the feared people there.” Anywhere I looked & went, local men seemed in sync & in uniform. Still, I don’t talk to anyone as described by my sister unless they’re my students.    I may have inherited my dad’s sense of humor that the “comic” I found in my daily circumstances made me look forward to what would be more amusing in the coming days.

Noting the places I’d been to and counting the days, months & years I stayed.   As of writing,  I live in Japan the longest!  I can’t believe it’s been more than 3 decades and still counting.  So many stories to tell, so short a time to pen them down.  Hope someday soon I can share more how I cope with the locals and the lifestyle here.  Still coping….all by God’s provision, protection and perspective in my undertakings here.

My Creator God brought me this far and may He finds me faithful to whatever He entrusted to me. I want to serve His purpose in my generation.

I selected some photo quotes to reflect what’s in my mind now. The most precious quote is, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32
